FAQ
- Do you use organic ingredients?
All of our herbs are either certified organic or wildcrafted.
- What are “wildcrafted” herbs?
Wildcrafted herbs are harvested from their natural habitats while leaving enough of the mother plant to ensure the sustainability of the harvesting. Harvesters must provide a three-year history of the area demonstrating non-interference with crops for the herbs to be classified as “wild harvested.” As such, the herbs are naturally organic, but cannot be certified as such because they aren’t under “control” of the harvesters.
- Which tea blend should I choose?/Can I drink them if I’m not pregnant?/Are these teas safe for men or children?
We believe all of our teas are healthy and beneficial for people in all walks of life; however, our focus is on helping pregnant women obtain the necessary nutrition for a healthy pregnancy. I (Elijah) frequently drink our tea blends, and we also have our children drink them (particularly the SuperNORA blend for its immune-boosting ingredients), to no ill-effect. If you’re having trouble deciding which blend to try out, check out our blog post Which Tea is Right for Me?
- Do you use natural/artificial flavorings?
No, we do not use any “natural or artificial flavorings” to enhance our teas. We do, however, use essential oils in two of our blends: SuperNORA and both versions of Lady Nora. You can read more about these blends here and here.
- Why do you put essential oils in your teas?
We believe the benefit of the essential oils in our blends outweigh any potential risks, especially when compared to using “natural and artificial flavorings” as an alternative. When calculated out, our blends use far fewer drops of essential oil than the generally accepted 1-2 drops of essential oil per cup of tea considered safe among practitioners. We understand some may still not be comfortable ingesting essential oils. That’s fine! We encourage you to check out our other blends that don’t use any essential oils. 😊
- Are you teas gluten free?
None of our herbs are certified gluten free so we are unable to make any guarantees.
- Are your blends safe for people with nut allergies?
We use hazelnuts in our Hazel Morning Maté blend and our blends are made in a kitchen that does process other nut products so we are unable to promise our blends are safe for those with nut allergies.
- What’s the best way to prepare your teas?

As our teas are loose-leaf, you will need to procure either a fine-mesh infuser or a French press to prepare your teas. Unlike tea bags, loose-leaf teas typically do leave a small amount of residue in the cup. You'll use 2 teaspoons of loose leaf tea per 8oz cup of hot water, or 1/3 cup of loose leaf tea per gallon. For making large quantities, we recommend making a concentrate via a French press, then diluting to desired amount of tea. The infuser we personally use can be found here, and the French press we use is this one. Whichever option you choose, make sure it has a fine mesh screen, or very small holes.
